Description

Good chance it's LOC on the 3rd line with Foudy in the AHL, but my guess is they're done adding guys and will just rotate guys in the bottom 6 until Kovalenko's season is over / the deadline. I think Foudy's speed and passing could pair really well with Colton & Wood, and they make up for his lack of physicality.

I will be surprised if Olofsson isn't in the lineup to start though, I wonder if Cogs is ready to go for game 1 I mean the dude broke his neck.

i think the timeline for Cogs' return would have put him back by like a cup final, he should be fine. I agree with you though, I think they roll with this and see how the season progresses. A lot of teams put themselves in tight cap situations they have to get out of cheaply.

The problem is that none of the previous season's ahl forwards, other than JLF, have really made a case for NHL minutes. MacFarland made it sound like Pavel was likely going to get some time, and Ben Meyers obviously is penciled into rosters already, 3 is pretty good before you even account for injuries. Sounds like we are more likely to see AHL blueliner rotations through the avs.

Pavel, Meyers, Oloffson, and Foudy get legitimate looks early in the season. It's a win if just one of them sticks. Not the best but still a win. Besides these guys, they'll need to see if Drouin and Ryjo actually produce. My guess, like others here, is that COL is in wait-and-see mode now.

Yup. We're gonna keep that cap space open to make fixes if we need to, but at this point I think we might actually see us give young guys a shot. Gonna be an interesting start to the year.

All the free agents who seemed like decent possibilities are gone now except Zach Aston-Reese. Would have liked to see Caleb Jones at that minimum price. Not getting him seems to me like Malinski will get a chance. You have $1.2M in cap there. I think it's for Malinski or Pavel to fill out a 23-man roster. I agree with your line configurations on offense. On D, I think JJ left and Sammy right -- or Sammy left and Malinski right.
