Nashville is already retaining on 2 contracts, they are only allowed to retain one more. They also already have 7d, they won’t be interested in Brodie.

Without a 1st line center (Lindholm) it makes absolutely no sense for Calgary to acquire Nylander. Acquiring Nylander only makes sense if Lindholm is there to play with him and Huberdeau. Even then Calgary would need to be quite certain Nylander would extend with them.

Leafs fans won't like hearing this one bit but as a pure rental William Nylander is worth Noah Hanifin to the Flames and that's about it. Even if he's traded to a team he is willing to extend with his salary demand of 10+ million a year reduces his trade value especially considering there probably aren't a whole lot of teams he would extend with that can afford his next contract.
