I have a feeling the Maatta to Vancouver trades will replace the Petry to Detroit trades on CFACGM.

Where would Detroit put Garland? 🤔

Honestly I would be okay with seeing Olli with the Nucks at the TDL. More likely gets moved next summer in my opinion.

It's not like Olli is a rental. Yet that seems to be his price on CFACGM.

If you are Montreal and you have these choices :

Trade Allen not retained for a fifth

Trade Desmith for an ahl starter and a sixth while losing your last retention spot.

What do you choose?

No reason for Detroit to do that. We have 7 defencemen to start the season and already have 9 guys to play on the wing plus young guys pushing for roster spots that could take those winger spots or force Copp or Compher on the wing. There isn't a fit for us here. We would have to trade a winger to replace the lost extra defenceman.
