23-24 Preview Buffalo

Description
This is a huge season for Buffalo. They’ve been out of the postseason for far too long and I think they should be bold and look for any possible way to upgrade.

The obvious area of need could be goaltending. However, I’m a believer in Levi and think the kid could be special. I am not sure we will see it this season though. If they do look for a veteran upgrade, I’m not convinced it’s Hellebuyck.

I’m projecting 90 points and 5th in the Atlantic. I think once again they’ll just miss out on the playoffs.

Not an unreasonable projection. I personally put them at 97 points

I have hard time believing they have less points this year than last year.

Personally I put them right there fighting for 3rd Tampa and Boston should be declining, Florida is a weird team but will be up there. And personally I think buffalo is a good step ahead of Ottawa and detriot.

Barring injuries I would say this is the year they break the playoff curse

Well Adams needs his plan to keep developing and hope Levi can handle the grind. Still ? Marks at D hopefully Clifton can step up. Sabres got a lot of help from teams around them last year crapping the bed for periods of time. Quinn's injury hurts cause he was one you were hoping would take that next step. It's weird cause they could keep growing and get the goaltending and be fabulous or they could regress. Not many years you get like 5 or 6 guys having Career Years. Think they finish around 95pts.

This has to be the year they make the playoffs. There’s no good reason to believe Tampa, Boston, and Florida are all still better than them. Every single one of them is in line for regression due to the salary cap, if nothing else. Goaltending is the one question they have. I have trouble thinking it could be any less consistent than it was last year, and the defense is improved almost by default. While all the forwards were great last season and could see a regression, especially without Quinn for a good chunk of the season, I would think the offense should still be competitive.

All great comments.
Tampa finished only 8 points ahead of them and they lost Killorn and Colton.
Florida could have a playoff hangover.
Boston and Toronto will still be goodl
Detroit will be MUCH better, while Ottawa will be better with Chychrun the entire season and Kubalik is not DeBrincat but he has 82 goals over the past 4 seasons.
Quinn, Peterka, Krebs, Power, Jokiharju, Levi and Luukkonen (maybe Greenway) ALL could have break out seasons as Cozens and Mittelstadt did last year.
Fitzgerals, Pilut, Clague, Bryson and Lyubuskin played 200 games last year, nearly all of those games will be played by Clifton, Johnson or Stillman.
They will not have an eight game losing streak nor will they suffer through a 12 game stretch and only pick up 4 points.
EDIT, imagine only 4 pts out of 20 games, 87 pts the other 62!
I stick to my prediction 100 pts, a playoff spot maybe even third in the Atlantic.
