Canucks need cap space. picks for both players would be a much better return for us.IMHO.

Avs need the cap space. AB is a guy the avs have wanted for years now

If and when we need to unload one of Girard, Toews or Manson, it needs to be for picks and prospects, not more cap (I know there's retention here, but still, not realistic). So yeah, a team like the nucks will not be our dancing partner here for cap reasons.

he's the perfect 2nd pair guy to go in when Hughes gets off. He plays a bigger game than his size, but yeah you'll mainly get his skating ability and passing

Not a good match up for a trade as both teams will be wanting to shed cap. I wouldn't do it for other reasons such as value from the Avs PoV as well.

I don’t think the value is here for the Avs. Myers sucks. You can find a bottom pair guy easy for free. Beauvillier is fine, especially retained. But again: you can probably get a player like that without giving up a top 4 defenseman with term. I mean, the Toronto fans are begging the Avs to take on Jarnkrok for a 4th lol.

We can go for another cup while still being smart about the cap. Adding all of these pieces means likely saying goodbye to one of Rantanen, Byram or Lehkonen while they are still in their prime. We want to avoid that at all costs.
