Protections on the pick is "top 10 protected, if top 10, Canucks have the choice to send that pick or a 2025 1st unprotected."

Keep in mind, this is not my proposal, I have just seen this spread from Vancouver circles to Montreal circles very fast and I wanted to see your guys opinions on it. Personally I think Vancouver isn't competitive enough for this to make sense, Myers is an extremely bad contract but that pick will likely be top 10 in both years. The only reason I could see them doing this type of trade is if they think Petty will ask to leave if they don't make the playoffs, but that still is extremely unlikely.

Why would the Canucks trade a 1st and 3rd to downgrade on the wing and on defense and take on a terrible contract? Montreal should be the team adding the 1st not Vancouver
Enz22, Warpbox and mmorel1616 liked this.

The only people that would be speculating this trade would have to be delusional Habs fans. Zero chance this trade happens.
