Why would the jets do this? 1 they waste a retention spot 2. They trade away a key physical dman 3. Bring in a rental forward so barron who was a warrior last year gets no ice time 4. Jets aren't being compensated for the cap space it opens which is almost 2m so all in all jets easily decline and its not close for the reasons mentioned

Agree on the retention, but the swap itself makes sense. Dillon is great for us but it opens up a spot for Heinola, we have more Dmen than we need at the moment. Also, we were already needing more offence last season, and still haven't addressed the scoring lost by moving out Wheeler.

Beauvillier is not an offensive force tho. The guy is a middle six guy ideally 3rd. I'm not against trading Dillon but if it's for a forward se need to make sure someone is still getting ice time because not playing barron would be dumb. I can't see anything with Vancouver here

Iafallo replaces Wheeler's scoring, the PP1 will be better without Wheeler and PP2 should be better this season with the added talent up front, really don't think they're going to miss Wheeler at all.

I disagree on that Barron part, the Jets desperately need middle six depth and Barron aint that, the guy isn’t good enough for the 3rd line yet, he still needs a season or 2, I hate the retention but we need another middle six guy (Barbanov, Crouse, Kubalik)
