I like the idea of Kuz going to Minnesota but this is too much.

I don't.

He's got too many strikes against him that he's not a fit.

1) There's the past drug use. It's not that I hold it against him, or that I think he still does it. Just that the young players on roster and in the system shouldn't be exposed to it.

2) He's a defensive black hole. In Minnesota players are expected to be at least defensively competent.

3) That's an extreme overpay for someone who's value isn't worth half of that. Washington isn't getting Rossi straight up for a retained Kuznetsov, let alone a 1st. Or getting both, plus a roster player.

4) Kuznetsov has a disturbing habit of playing when he wants to and coasting when he doesn't. That doesn't fit with the give 120% every shift mentality and expectations that both Evason and Guerin espouse.
