Clear the logjam

Created by: MarkWinnipeg

Description
Arizona trade brings a veteran presence to the yotes blue line, the modified no trade may be an issue though. Essentially swaps out Jenrik for Gustaffson, fresh start for both.

Boeser trade gets Vancouver Cap compliant with Pearson coming off the books, not an ideal return for them but they should be able to get a 2nd + for Dillon at the deadline. Also no retention on Boeser which would be ideal for them. Harkins and the 4th being involved is just a throw in as the Jets would have to waive him, could be DIllon for Boeser straight up.

For the Jets Clears the logjam on the blue line making room for Stanley/Chisholm while maintaining cap space.
Schmidt trade is better then a buyout next offseason.
Dillon gets a player signed through next season in return vs picks/prospects at the deadline.
Still have four UFA's to move come deadline Scheif, Helly, Demelo and Nino if none re-up.

AZ passes - no want for 4th line/AHL W and dumba, stecher will be enough veteran D (they need the young guys to play)

The AZ trade is a big shrug...

Nothing really matters with any of the players. Schmidt's best years were 5+ years ago, Gustafsson is looking like a career AHL or lower league guy and so is Janik. Janik is the most interesting of them, a Bunting like player that maybe will figure it out like Bunting did, but countless guys have come and gone with the same potential.

How so, Van needs to clear cap when Pearson comes off LTIR. Sure they'd like to move Garland/Myers instead but that's not going to happen without paying/retaining 45-50 point winger 5M and a bottom pairing D being paid 6M per season.
Trades of Note outside of Proverov, Dubois, Debrincat and Karlson

Petry top four defensman 2.3M cap hit = 4th round pick & depth defensman
Joel Edmonson top four D 1.75 M cap hit = 3rd & 4th round pick
Tefolli top six winger 4.75M cap hit = 3rd round pick & depth prospect
Taylor Hall 6M cap hit = depth defensman, depth prospect
Ryan Johanson 4M cap hit = Nothing in return

Far as teams who have room to move Boeser to:
Montreal - Not taking on players but will be an in between to receive assets ex- Petry netted Montreal 4 assets between two trades
Chicago- Rebuilding they' may take him for nothing like Hall
Buffallo - Might do a swap sending Olofson back net change of 1.75M cap gained by Van doubtful though they may need space to chase a goalie if their tandem doesn't work
Nashville- Space would be better used on another Center
Anaheim- Still have Zegras and Drysdale to sign. Nothing will happen their until that dust settles.

Pray tell where is Vancouver trading/dumping players.
