I don’t think Monahan is going to be in that top 6 considering he’s made of glass

As long as he is healthy he is in the top 6 imo, but he could get injured than Newhook gets a spot

I don’t see St. Louis putting him in the top 6, I feel like he’d put the younger players in the top 6

I don't understand why you would put the aging, slow Monahan up there rather than the young guy you gave up some decent draft capital to acquire. I can also tell you from my experience down here in COL that Newhook does not have the defensive awareness to play a 3rd line role. Put him up with Slaf and Dach at least. Monahan really should be playing more third line type of minutes anyways if he's going to last a whole season.

Trust me, Newhook looked completely lost in our Top 6 last year but he was FAR worse when he was getting 3rd and fourth line minutes. With a younger line like Dach and Slaf, he can grow with them rather than trying to fit into a mature top 6 like ours. He will make some BAD defensive mistakes, but if he has a defined role offensively I think he'll grow with the team.

It makes sense, Dach is a reasonable defensive guy so Newhook doesn't have to worry as much, then size wise, Dach and Slaf are big. Ig this would be best for Newhook

Monahan is definitely more top 9 than he is top line. Shelter some of his minutes and maybe he won't break this year.

Put Monahan on the third, Dach on the first and Newhook on the second. Dvo will probably don't start the season

Monahan will play in PP and PK

I would put Monahan 3c, Newhook 1W and Ylonen instead of Heineman
