All of them roughly 5-10 points higher than what they will really get

What a terrible take. It’s all similar to what they had last year

And now they have to play agaisnt a tougher division without being top 3 in PP opportunities despite having lower puck possession numbers

This might be the dumbest argument I’ve ever heard. And you think the Sens players are gonna get worse with another year under their belt ? U really must be on drugs. You’re gonna be so shocked when they play so well and beat those bum teams

No, it's not... look it up, but you def aren't the guy to bring facts into the equation either

And the Sens will finish a solid 6/7th in the Atlanta bc of their subpar goaltending and subpar team defence but I don't think you're the type of guy to understand how playing in a tougher division might affect your stats. Especially when teams play their starters agaisnt yours and you stop getting bailed out by the refs in PPs to inflate your stats despite being an average team on the PP and on the PK

Tough division? Tampa lost Killorn . Boston lost Bergeron , Krecji and Hall. Montreal gained no one. Buffalo gained Clifton and Erik Johnson. . Detroit gained Holl and Compher. What am I supposed to be afraid of really? Lmao

All those teams that you mentioned, except for MTL, were all better than OTT to begin with... Boston gained other players too, Shattenkirk, Lucic, Geekie etc. TBL gained Sheary, Det gained Petry, ADB etc. Buffalo gets a full season of Levi and their right side, Toronto got their tough guys and rats with a full year of Knies and Florida's going to be tough to play against as well... and 6/8 teams all finished ahead of Ottawa with DET significantly improving...

Stay mad

Ottawa finished ahead of Detroit and they would’ve finished ahead of Buffalo too if they had Chychrun and Norris all year

Detroit was originally ahead of Ottawa until they realized that they aren't making the playoffs and started to tank for a better 1rst round pick and OTT would still be worse than BUF

Nice try to steal Duehr. He has been absolutely great in CGY, and he's not going anywhere! Ever since he was called up the guy was noticable in a good way game in and game out.

That's why I would be extremely disappointed if we traded the guy unless it is a massive overpayment.

I would like to see a full, healthy year from Tarasenko and Chychrun, both could put up some interesting numbers.

Really can't see Ottawa trading JBD. He's been part of the plans on RD for years

Just trade Kubalik (or Joseph if you insist of squandering yet another valuable asset) and be done with

Quoting: Gmonwy
JBD would most likely be in the AHL for us(unless a dman trade happens which is unlikely at this point) while Duehr is most likely 4th line. I'd rather have the player for RIGHT NOW than next year

JBD would 100% be claimed on waivers though

I disagree with you on this. I think that next year Ottawa makes it. Florida and Boston are better on defense and in net. And everyone counted Boston out because of their injuries. And look what happened. They dominated anyways. Both of them also play better team defense IMO. Pus both of them have a better coach then Ottawa. So for me, Florida and Boston (as well as Buffalo and NYI) will finish ahead of the senators

One thing Boston had was depth though, they no longer have that.

Florida also caught fire at the right time and if not for their end of season surge would not have finished above the Senators and Sabres in the division.

Not to mention that Ottawa was close to Florida with Norris, Chychrun, and other key forwards missing significant time. They also used 7 goaltenders last year and continuity in net this year will be a huge advantage.

Flames could send GIlbert or Oesterle in the AHL but moot point anyway as Ottawa wouldn't do this
