Description

This is not based on any sort of reality. Just have the day off and I've realized that this site is mostly leafs fans so I wanted to do something fun for you all and share a Nylander trade I feel would work for both teams.

Cap does work on this deal for both teams. Islanders are compliant with a 22 man roster if they waive Ross Johnston

Additional Details:

This is realistically what a Nylander trade looks like. A slight downgrade from Nylander to another Top 6 F (older and less points) for a young D with top 6 potential, a grinder (for salary purposes) and a 1st.

Islanders likely run:

Barzal with Nylander
Horvat with Lee

Those are two solid pairings to build the top 6 around.

I don't expect leafs fans to feel that way however. Most think they will get a top 10 prospect + a top 4D/6F

If the isles were to accept it, the pairings to build the top 6 wouldnt be that. They would likley put nylander with horvat and lee with barzal. Lee and horvat are so similar, having them on the same line is redundant
