Look, a little bit of the pot calling the kettle black here because my team is hoping Jonathan Drouin can produce but.......this looks very dicey to me.

Hard to believe we went from the best regular season team in NHL history to this

Unless they really wow in camp, I'd hold off on playing Merkulov and Beecher. They probably both deserve a shot some time during the season. Same with Lysell, even though you don't have him in here.

IMO, the absolute best case scenario is that part way through the season, one of Lysell/Merkulov can grab a spot in the top 6, but even if that happens it will probably be a very bumpy ride.

I didn't realize how many dudes have some term on this team. Beecher and Merkulov need to show up, otherwise this could get worse before it gets better.

Don't see Lauko clearing waivers and Greer isn't worth the roster spot

Lauko has a two way contract this year so doesn’t need to clear waivers. But to that point, I do see him being up with the team majority of the year now that you mention it

Two-way contract has no bearing on waivers eligibility. Two-way vs one-way is just about money paid. On a one-way deal a player makes the same if they play in the NHL or AHL. With a two-way deal a player has a different salary if they play in the NHL vs AHL. For example Lauko this year will make $775k if he's in the NHL, but only $200k if he's in the AHL. If you look at Lauko via the waiver tool on CF he shows as requiring waivers since he as met the 5yr minimum of pro hockey

https://www.capfriendly.com/waivers-calculator/jakub-lauko1

On the team page of CF you can see he also doesn't have the green circle with the arrow pointing down. This signifies which players don't require waivers.
