Official Playoff Predictions
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>I'll be honest, the torch doesn't pass until someone wins a cup.
Crosby is getting older I'm not sure he can wait on McDavid forever to get it done so he better get at it. Their first two rounds should be easy for them. They only need McDavid to be torching people for the 3rd and finals.
I think COL goes further than this.
COL vs VGK would be an interesting matchup.
as for the east CAR/FL is a 50/50... but those are the right two teams at that point.</div></div>
I mean Avs-Jets is gonna be a very interesting series to watch- I just think the Jets are so good defensively and have enough scoring that they can beat the Avs. Still could definitely go either way- just like Vegas-Dallas is so close and if Dallas ends up beating Vegas I could easily see them going all the way.

Dream trade
It's an interesting idea with the Saros trade but I think the Predators are enough in contention that they wouldn't just trade away their star goalie unless they get a king's ransom. With that said, they're still a complete longshot at the cup and Saros' contract is expiring soon- if a team like the Oilers thought he was the missing piece to put them over the top and made an offer they couldn't pass up then anything could happen. In this case I would wonder if the Preds would be interested in Skinner as part of the return- he's a young and affordable goalie and they could theoretically still stay in the mix if they got a serviceable guy back like Skinner

Run for Playoffs
If I'm being completely honest I'd rather see us make the usually unpopular decision of standing pat at the deadline this year (maybe make some small depth moves but nothing huge). As much as I'd love to win a cup this year, we need to think about the future and keep our draft capital for down the road. I think the team is a longshot for the cup still with or without Lindholm- and if we do go on a run it likely will be because of goaltending not because of one center added. We should keep our draft picks and our prospects for the coming years when our team will have more cap flexibility and should be looking to reinforce its roster and get back on top

I mean yes a little bit because you'd probably want to see Swayman keep it up for a little longer but he's been the best goalie so far this year. In reality right now he's probably right behind Shesterkin or Vasilevsky- but if he keeps up this start he'll shoot right to the top

Centennial Season Opening Night Lines
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hammerwise</b></div><div>You cant not like the goaltending and the defense looks real good, and Brown/Zboril are good depth....BUT:
A real good 2-4th Center do not make a good 1-3rd line centers, just not sold on Zacha as a quality 1C
the second line is big but maybe a bit slow, and not sure if theres enough creativity for 2 shooters on that line with coyle, JVR and debrusk
4th line should be fine in limited minutes, but probably pretty average, like to see them try a youngster like Lycksell in bottom 6
But overall at forward its looking like a one line team potentially, which is worrying...</div></div>
If a prospect like Lysell or Merkulov could come up and provide some offense on the second/third line that would be huge for us but that seems like very wishful thinking

You guys would have to retain a bunch but if we could fit those guys under the cap I would love that as a Bruins fan. Zacha would be missed but we're replacing him with Schenn and getting that first too

This is no longer a playoff caliber roster. That group of centers is terrible and the left wings aren't much better. Not much firepower in this offense and still very little cap space. If I'm the Bruins I'm tearing it down and selling off all of our short term contracts (DeBrusk, Ullmark, Grzelcyk, maybe even Marchand). If Bergeron and Krejci come back maybe it's different but right now we're just wasting the primes of Pasta, Lindholm, and McAvoy by just being fringe contenders with no draft capital to build from.

Someone tell me if these trades are valid or BS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>First of all, not a Bruins fan, but.....
1. The LA deal has some merit. They do need a legit starter. They probably don't need a LD. I'd the PLD rumours have merit, I can see where Byfield maybe seen as expendable.
So, where the value maybe there, I don't see it getting done from the Kings perspective - even if PLD becomes a King. Long term, PLD signs his deal. Kopitar is off the books after this year (I see him.extending short term for around $6 million). Arvidsson comes off the books, where PLD takes his place. Gives the Kings the same centre corps they have, with PLD as insurance and a better Byfield. Further, given the ages of Kopitar amd Danault, I am that sees Byfield as rather untouchable at this point.
Analysis: right idea wrong team. I wonder if Seattle would consider something like this though. They need a legit tender and the forward depth to pull it off.
2. Sharks deal: I think if you improve the draft choice, Grier may bite. Sturm is very underrated, but clearly doesn't fit the rebuild. Should like Beecher's size in a bottom 6 role.
Overall analysis: yeah, I can see this.
3. DeBrusk to the Avs. I simply don't see Sakic dealing himself out of the 1st round this year. In fact I am.not sure he does this in 2024 either. Do the Bruins really want to wait until 2025? The Avs lack draft capital to male this viable for them despite the player being a fit imo. Thinking long term, the Avs moving on DeBrusk I think is dependent on if Landeskog is done or coming back for 24-25.
Now, I could see Ottawa being quite interested in this for a 2024 1st, depending on what the return is for Debrincat. Could be involved in a 3 way deal if that becomes an option.
Nashville could also be an option - and they do have the draft capital.
If Edmonton clears some cap space, he would work well there too.
Lots of options here.
Overall analysis: Avs just aren't the fit.
4. Reilly to the Ducks..... I have prompted this before tbh. Reilly's game is good, just a victim of numbers in Boston. It would be hard for Verbeek to say no to getting a viable bottom pairing D where in am initial deal he moves up 3 rounds, and can flip him at the TDL for another pick.
Overall analysis: Verbeek should be all over it.</div></div>
Good analysis and a lot more depth than most people would put into a comment. Hats off to you

Detroit has a young core and a ton of cap space- they could be very active in the trade market if they want to. I don't know if Colombus will actually be that good but there's always a few surprise teams and I think their roster was better than their record this year

Honestly the entire Atlantic division is a toss-up- I don't know if even your leafs are safe, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if my Bruins fell out of the playoffs. I picked against Florida mainly because I don't trust their goaltending- Bobrovsky has been extremely streaky in his career. I could easily be wrong however

We don't need to keep Ullmark. Swayman is almost as good and has the potential to be a top 5 goalie if not better. Get some futures back for Ullmark and get add some better depth with that new cap space. Don't forget we have Bussi coming up- he can be a capable backup.

Yeah that's the reason we're not getting 2 firsts because normally Ullmark would have higher value seeing as he's about to win the Vezina and is on an extremely affordable contract. The Bruins traded about that for half a year of Orlov- I would think 2 years of Ullmark should net a good return

I paid higher for them in one I made a few weeks ago and some guy said it was a "massive overpay". Also that's why this is the "best case scenario"- I don't expect it to actually happen

Most likely scenario
I won't pretend to be a huge hockey prospect guru, but a quick elite prospects search tells me these guys in the LA trade aren't all that valuable compared to Ullmark. I know the Bruins aren't gonna get an Eric Lindros type return for him, but he's gonna win the Vezina and he's getting paid half of what his market value is. If we're gonna break up the Ullmark-Swayman tandem we've got to get something good for him, especially given all the teams in need of goaltending help.

"Massive Overpay"- maybe a difference of 200K. Whatever man. Maybe we can get more for DeBrusk, maybe we won't get as much for Ullmark. It evens out- the whole principle is a projection of what the Bruins roster will look like next year, and I think it could look something like this.
