I like Konecny, but I doubt the Sens make this trade.

They learned with Debrincat not to trade significant assets for 2 years of a player that they can't extend right away. Giving up Greig who's nearly ready, if not already, for 1.5 years of Konecmy ain't happening. Sens aren't in a win this year at all costs mentality.

Any other prospect and you very likely have a deal.

Price is a little too steep for Ottawa at the moment. Our prospect cupboard is running thin. We also don't have the cap space for Konecny, although I like the player.

Yeah Grieg is probably a bit high for Ottawa along with everything else, I’d guess probably Boucher or Zack Ostapchuk would get it done

Greig ELC and cost controlled years are KEY for the Sens window of contention.

The UFA market is going to be stacked. After signing Giroux and Tarasenko in back-to-back seasons, I think they'll be able to attract a good forward
