Way too much term for the those aging UFAs. And what would the point? Same playoffs, a bare playoff team, just paying some players more $$$.

This Jets fan doesn’t mind those contracts but would try for 5 years instead of 7.

I would swap Villardi and Scheif up front and I think we need to run Bauer instead of DeMelo once Dillon is gone.

Otherwise this continues to be a playoff team that hopes to catch lightning in a bottle. I’m good with that. Will take a long time to rebuild if the returns aren’t there in a trade and nobody is signing as a UFA here unless we overpay significantly.

Sure 5 years would be better, but normally UFA at that age are trying to get the most money & terms

The other thing will some players who have made good money but have played on middling teams...for years, it's just time for "better scenery."
Nothing against the good folks in Winnipeg, but the Jets have among worse travel schedule, poor weather, and isolation from any other big city, especially for an American who family on the East Coast.

I was close, this is even better (saving 1M)
But yeah, they will remain competitive but never contender
