Are Vegas even considering trading out NHL goalie with such a great deal ?
How would Pesce`s extension look like ?
Sabres are not retaining on Olofsson to get Beauvilier

Beauvillier stylistically is a better fit for the Canucks

I don't hate this, although I'd want a touch more if Carolina's including Drury too

That is the Rumor that Thompson wants out and he is way cheaper then trading for Hellebuyck and then having to lock in for 5 - 6 years and I would rather see a top 4 D get a 5-6 year deal then a goalie
Pesce would get in the $6,500,000 to $7,500,000 range for 5-6 years and for a #2 stopper to play with Dahlin that is what the Sabres are missing
All I heard at the end of last season was Sabre fans on hear crying they need to get rid of Olofsson and get a harder player to play against, like a playoff performer and that is when Beauvillier earns his money as he is a half point a game player in the playoffs

Probably add another pick if Pesce signs, like 3rd rounder in 2025

Picks can't be conditional on re-signing, but otherwise, definitely.

Doesn’t it happen all the time or did they put a stop to that recently?

During the pandemic they put an end to it, it's why it hasn't happened since.

Not really, he really fizzled out at the end of last season
But he is at his scoring best in the playoffs and getting Olofsson to play with Petey would give Olofsson his best statistical season

I don't know why but it bothers me that I can't find a reason not to do the first 2 trades. Even if there was a little something extra added like a 4th to the Pesce trade.

I can *almost* guarantee that Adams has no interest whatsoever in retaining any player salary at all so that Beauvillier trade is a no from me but those other 2 I think I would do. Very interesting proposal.

That does anwser my question. Thompson is very cheap, and cap stranded Vegas love to have decent backup for 800k AAV. Comrie is twice that.
What is Pesce wants 7 years, 8mil ? Sabres spend all that for 1 year? Sign and trade maybe the only way, but that will come back after 23/24 season.

Simple answer is Vegas isn’t doing that.

I had Pesce going to Nashville in another trade a few weeks ago and Nashville fans seemed to think he is in the 5-7 year range in the $6,500,000-$7,500,000 cap hit range

Sabres can wait until he is UFA. No need to trade for him.
