No chance PHI takes that.
Why would PHI trade 3 guys under contract, who I presume are playing well beacuse you want them for the playoffs, for 2 UFAs who probably arent part of the rebuild, a Liljegren who in his 6th yr is wanted out of TOR, a solid but bottom 6 34 yr old winger?
Then they have to flip 3 guys TOR cant flip?
If PHI is trading a 28 yr old 1RD (where you put him), a 2RW, a 3C, and an expiring but top of his value 3LD, they'd want picks. While I dont know if Laughton is worth a rumoured quality 1st and 2nd, considering what TOR gave up for an expiring O'Reilly, you'd have to think Laughton is worth 2 2nds and a 4th, Koneckny is worth a 1st and 2nd and a 3rd, a solid Risto worth a 2nd and 4th, and a Seeler a 3rd. So is that package from the leafs in PHILLY eyes worth a 1st, 4 2nds, 2 3rds and a 4th?
Liljegren as an expiring 6th yr pro who has not established himself as a top 4 guy and was a healthy scratch in the playoffs probably worth a 2nd and 4th, Jarnkrot is worth a 3rd, Brodie has value, but not to PHI, maybe they could add him to other TDL moves Staal, Walker but thats alot of dmen to flood the market with and one of the main buyers (Leafs) would not be buying, so to PHI maybe he gets a 2nd and 3rd, but theyre doing alot of work just to claim back what they "paid" to get him.
So that leaves Nylander whos worth a 1st and 2 2nds and a 3rd at the TDL as an expiring UFA, BUT where does PHI get ahead in all this?
And they just dealt 3 guys under contract beyond 23-24 for pretty much equivalent value?
All in all, its just not the pieces PHI would want for things they want to keep or can get more individually.
