Description

I get it's just for one season so it's not the end of the world, but why was Klingberg perceived to be THE guy that we should target on defense? I get that Treliving wants better offensive production from the blue line (which he has previously stated), but most of the lack in scoring can be attributed to the system that the team plays. Signing him also makes it really difficult to improve other areas of the team at the deadline. We'll see where this goes.

Klingberg is worth 800k more than Connor Clifton there's no question about that IMO.

Connor Clifton is an above average physical defenseman and that's all.

Tough call. Puck movement and potential offence or grit and defence. Crossing my fingers.

Klingberg was acquired for his offense, which is non existant besides Reilly.

However when you're losing Holl and Schenn, who were desired over liljegren and no-defense Timmins, it makes you wonder where the crease clearers/stay at home guy was. Giordano is too old for everyday play.

They should have sought a stay at home RD, maybe a Clifton or a Dumba, and a LD who can bring some puck rushing/PP, like Gustaffson (or even Staal):
