Sell Off

Created by: TMLBRIAN
Team: 2023-24 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 22, 2023
Published: Sep. 22, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
These are the type of moves I would make if I were Philly.

Laughton, Hart and Konecny should be moved (even with retention), if they are able to get packages like this.

Philly would be setting themselves up very nicely for the future.

Usually, but having multiple 40+ save games doesn't usually happen for bad goalies on good teams and vice versa. In the end its a team game and everyone contributes to the wins and losses, but that also means everyone's stats are reflective of the team too.

True, & I’m not discounting that Gibson didn’t have much help
But FOUR STRAIGHT YEARS of bad stats is just way too much of a red flag to take the risk with him
ESPECIALLY considering what the Ducks would want for him,
and the rest of his contract still due,
and that he was rumored to turn down a trade here last year

Our GM wants guys who WANT to be here
Doesn’t seem like that’s Gibson, and he has too many red flags
It’s just too risky for me

Don’t bother I already blocked that guy he hates Hart and has a personal agenda against him it’s useless to talk to him

😢😢😢 Hart blows,
& Konecny isn’t getting four 1sts in value in a trade

Sorry the Flyers are so bad, but that’s not my fault

I made the Ottawa side of this trade here - https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/762226?post_id=4421192 - Ottawa looks seriously good with Laughton. He is a middle 6 guy but he is exactly the type of guy they need. I like it for both teams.

Do you think that Laughton would get anywhere close to 17:30 or top-6 minutes and PP in Ottawa? If not, how many points would he score? And if not, then what would he bring over Joseph exactly? MJ is better defensively than 80% of NHL forwards at ES and better than 98% than PK forwards on the PK

Paying 1st + 2nd + Thomson to make that swap and save 1.5 AAV would be one of the worst trades I have ever seen
