Makes sence. Wonder who of Ruzicka and Pelletier wins the 2nd line spot though. Will also be interesting to see if Sharangovich can cement that position.

Also good to see Weegar playing on the right side and possibly lessening the minutes for Tanev which could be crucial if this team makes the playoffs

The only thing bad is Rooney. He is terrible. We might end up signing a PTO

Indeed. I was surprised back then, seeing his contact, and is even more today. That much over league min + that second year is kind of brutal because it low key forces the coach to play him and prevents the gm from getting a replacement

Yeah, that’s what it looks like today, but who knows what it’ll look like next week

I say move Kadri to 1RW and sign Stastny for 4C and Alex Edler as insurance for Kylington and to be our 7th D-Man:

Huberdeau-Lindholm-Kadri
Sharangovich-Backlund-Mangiapane
Dube-Coleman-Duehr/Coronato/Ruzicka
Ruzicka/Pelletier-Stastny/Ruzicka-Klapka/Duehr
Hunt/Pospisil

Hanifin-Andersson
Zadorov/Kylington-Weegar
Kylington/Zadorov-Tanev
Edler

Dube is statically better on the Wing, hence why I have Coleman at Centre and I believe Ruzicka is better at RW, so if Kadri didn’t work at 1RW, I’d honestly try Ruzicka there; Sharangovich, Mangiapane and Coronato would be my 3rd/4th/5th options at 1RW

Adam Klapka, Ben Jones & Clark Bishop are probably all better 4C options. Heck, Brett Sutter or Mitch McLain would probably both be better than Kevin Rooney too

Pelletier might possibly have the higher ceiling and is probably more consistent and defensively responsible, but Ruzicka’s currently the better player and brings more size

Ruzicka needs to work on his consistency and learn to use his size & strength more, but he’s the ideal size for the NHL

Pelletier is undersized, which can often lead to defensive issues & injuries as a result of playing against much Bigger & Faster Forwards & Defensemen in the NHL

Great post, but still have some questions:

1. Where will Calgary finish in the ranking?

2. What will most likely be the PP?

3. Who is likely to have a breakout year or who will surprise in terms of point production? Who is advantaged by the line combinations?

4. Who is likely to have a bad year in point production?

5. How many games each goalie is likely to play?
