Too much time spent with Calgary/Markstrom…and it sounds like ownership there was never going to allow any deal. Just a waste of time.

Shipped out in the offseason. Price to dump should be cheaper with 1 year left. More likely traded away in whatever goalie deal we make this offseason

Turcotte has been sent to minors…so his recall and placement on top line was 100% a showcase. Wonder if they tried using him to obtain Toffoli.

(Could also be paper move for AHL playoffs)

In other news…Seamus Casey stays on ice for most of third period, leads Michigan to come from 3-goal deficit to beat Notre Dame 5-4.

Im glad we can put this Markstrom nonsense behind us and focus on some "big game hunting" in the offseason

Who are we thinking Swayman? Saros? Somebody else?

And to make things worse (if the "rumors" are to be believed) he now pissed off his top goalie, wouldn't be surpised if Markstrom asks to be traded thus lowering his price even more

First…”Devils offered Mercer, Casey, 1st, 2nd and Conroy shopped to CAR for better deal, Fitzy backed off”

Next…”Devils offered Mercer, 1st+ and ownership declined the retention”.

Then…”Devils offered Mercer, 1st+ and Maloney pulled back to try and make playoffs”

Now…”Devils were stupid to never offer Mercer…we would have taken him straight up”
