Bordeleau on top of what is already there? Seems like a lot. I would say Bordeleau alone maybe.

Pinto = Bordeleau + 2nd
Joseph + 2nd = 0

Thus,
Pinto + Joseph + 2nd = Bordeleau + 2nd

Or,
Pinto + Joseph = Bordeleau

Make it next years 2nd rounder. The NJD pick has the possibility of being bumped up to a 2024 1st, which I don’t think is worth sending with Barabonov.

There is no sense including Joseph if Pinto is getting moved and vice versa. The trade is a means to an end. Dorion wouldn’t lessen his return on Pinto just to move an extra body for a slight upgrade on Joseph.

The reason why they would consider trading Brannstrom (or Kubalik or Joseph) would be to create enough cap space to sign Pinto, not include him in the trade

Also, you'd have to offer something they WANT more and none of these pieces comes close to that.


Upgrade offensively but downgrade defensively. Hockey fans always undervalue the defensive part of the game but it's also very important. Ottawa NEEDS Joseph, their PKer and one of their best bottom-6 forwards (until Greig and Pinto surpass him)
