yeah Norris ain't skating this morning, doesn't sound good. i'd probably try grieg at 2C though and put Pinto where he's supposed to sit

Mixed feelings, makes our top 6 worse but makes our bottom 6 significantly better. If sitting norris to be sure he's 100% later on is what has to happen, so be it. I'm ok with this.

If Norris is out the full season and cap space opens up, I might look to add a top 6F and keep the bottom 6 strong

Yeah and if you think Dorion doesn’t have any leverage now, wait til all 31 teams know he has to trade someone immediately to activate Norris or the league will penalize them. Would be smart to just trade someone now before the whole league holds him hostage when Norris is ready to go lol

Not by much, the calculation is extremely hard to do with the LTIR but the time Norris spends on LTIR creates some accrued cap space

When he comes back, you send some of the waivers exempt guys to the AHL (Guenette, Smejkal, Jarventie) and run a 20-men roster

Maybe another LTIR will exist by then too, unfortunately

Even without Norris, you're looking at a very strong forward group. Greig, Jarventie and Pinto will be excellent

During the period when a player is on LTIR, the team does not accrue cap space.

Yeah, sorry bud, that's not how the cap works. Placing Norris on LTIR now when you're over the cap only returns you to cap equallibrium. You dont accrue anything. You would be against the cap with no ability to call anyone up.
