A 3rd pairing defenseman who doesn't get PP time isn't going to score 30 points at even strength.

Are you talking about Xhekaj? Cause he does get 2nd PP time.

Doesn't change much. 2nd unit time on one of the worst PPs in the league isn't going to get him to 30 points. It just makes some of your guesses for higher scoring defensemen even more ridiculous.

He was on pace for 0.25 PPG last season. Based on what I saw in preseason, he's better this year than last year and also playing more minutes since he is picking his battles for when to fight. Expecting him to play a full season and to improve his output by 8 points is not crazy...

I really hope Dach and Slafkovsky end up forming a formidable duo on the 2nd line. Sure it’s great to have a stellar 1st line but the team won’t perform too great if the rest of the lines can’t score.
Also I really hope they don’t saddle Guhle with Savard again this year. Savard is a great locker room guy and solid on the PK but I hope he’s put on the 3rd pairing where he belongs.

One last point, don’t sleep on RHP especially if he gets to play significant time with Suzy and CC. I could see him putting up 20+ goals this season.

You’re right the PP is atrocious. With that being said Arber has a heavy shot and if the coaching staff(not too hopeful for this since Burrows runs the PP) finds a way to utilize that then 30 points really isn’t an outrageous number. Harris scoring 35 may be a little high though.

He was scoring at an unreasonable percentage last year. I think 35-40 points is in his grasp, but he's not going to magically become a player he has never been.

The Habs are prioritizing offense by activating the defense. The points scoring by defensemen comes from that.

3 points in 4 preseason games. I see him playing next to Matheson and picking up points 5-on-5 just by hanging with the big guns.

What do you mean? RHP has been underrated everywhere he has ever played and has scored everywhere he has played…

Not saying he’s going to go out and be a ppg player this year just that 20+ goals and 40+ points is very possible if he gets significant time with Suzy and CC.

If you look at past posts you’ll see I’m a Harris supporter just see him as a cerebral defender not really a point producer but hey you could be right if he ends up playing with Matheson.
