Yeah..... I think the Bruins will struggle to score this year. Not sold on Zacha and Coyle as a 1-2 punch.

I do think Geekie is going to be one to watch. Loads of upside there and was buried in Carolina and Seattle. That signing may have been one of the shwerdest moves of the offseason.

Overall..... they are going to hit and grind out games. I don't see them in the top 4 in the Atlantic, but will be in the WC mix.

trade one of your goalies and get a 1C in the offseason or the trade deadline and this will look like a cup contender imo.

The likelihood of the Bruins getting a real 1C next offseason is dwindling by the minute as players re-sign. They won't be able to get one for a goalie alone. I'm starting to wonder what they should do next offseason assuming they can't get a high-end 1C. Maybe go after a high-end UFA wing and try to get back into the 1st/2nd rounds of the draft? Scoring will definitely be an issue this season, and I don't think that will change in '24-'25 by either standing pat or chasing middling center UFAs.

Zacha had the potential to be a 1C we will find out this season, I'm assuming the hope is Poitras matures into the 2C, leaving Coyle down in the third line or maybe shifting to wing if Beecher matutes into a 3C. I think this year is going to be make it break for how the future B's look. Any way you look at it, they will go into 24/25 with a **** ton of cap space to make things work.

Personally if we target nylander or Reinhart as our 1C in UFA I’d be more then okay with that going forward.

Nylander brings the skill of a 1C and Reinhart provides great 2 way play which bruins like from their Centers.
Either or which change our team look big time.

Especially if Poitras becomes some special maybe a krech 2.0

I have been fully on-board with the idea of waiting to see if a 1C would shake loose next offseason, but it is just looking less likely. I personally see Zacha as more of a potential 2C, and same with Poitras for the next couple of years (I don't want to predict his long-term ceiling before he plays a real game). Having a couple of 2Cs is much better than where we were before Poitras surfaced. If all of the top 6 wings are capable and the D and G remain solid, then a team with two capable 2Cs can still contend.

I'd be willing to try the Nylander experiment at C, but I think he will ultimately re-sign in Toronto. Not sure how I'd feel about Reinhart as a 1C, hadn't really considered him. He does seem more likely to shake free than some of the bigger top 6 Cs. I'd be willing to give it a go and flip him over to 2RW with DeBrusk on the left if that didn't work out, I suppose!

Well we have seen moderate success in having the sort of centre core the Bruins have while stacking the wing (Vegas, pre-Eichel some to mind and the best example maybe Minnesota); but beyond Marchand and Pasta, it isn't exactly mind-blowing. But DeBrusk and Frederick are solid but not guys I see carrying a line, while JVR is clearly on the slide. Why I say Geekie is one to watch (as is Poitras).

Moving on of Ullmark or Swayman looks enviable (like 90% it's Ullmark really), but the term left on the deal doesn't get that #1 centre. What it may do is get the guy that could become that...... and even there I think it becomes a more complex deal.

Draft and develop......

Reinhart I really like and I hope they target, he does the same things E lindholm does but with worse linemates and does not nearly get as much hype.

Nylander resigning I feel is on how their Playoff success is this year, if they get bounced round 1/2 again I can’t see him staying, financially idk if Toronto will do it aswell 40+ mill tied in to 4 players is a lot especially if that core doesn’t seem to work.

They are gonna lose 1 of Tavares/ Marner/ nylander in the next few UFA’s and see them having hometown bias towards the 2 Ontario boys
