Hanifin isn't worth the likely cost imo, especially given Bahl's great play

Agreed. Getting both those guys with retention would probably cost the Devils' next two 1st round picks anyway. IMO targeting Tanev would be a great idea though.

Bahl has been improving...and I am fully bullish long-term. I wouldn't say he has been great in first three games (really, no one has been great). Maybe, 'adequate'.

But Hanifin is a lot better today.

Hanifin will be expensive. I'd rather spend the assets on a depth RHD (Sevo replacement rental) or a goalie if necessary. Luke and Bahl are good enough that we don't need to spend a 1st rounder at 2LD

Luke is fine on right side. Don't overthink righty/lefty too much. Just play the six best dmen.

1 year of Toffoli…for 2 years of Yegor…doesn’t seem like a fleecing to me. But only seen Toff for 3 games.

Hey, it’s up to you to re-up Toffoli, otherwise it’s a lease option. You get to rent and try him out before you commit to the purchase.

Toffoli will likely produce the same in one season as Yegor will in 2 the way things are going so far as well
