Description

A team apparently asked for $1.9m retention on Garland to send a Dman back to VAN. Speculation it was WSH and TVR.

I doubt the Canucks do it, as I think one of their main goals is to clear a bit of space to bring back Bear. This deal wouldn't do it. Maybe less or no retention on Garland with picks instead?

i don't see any garland deal that makes sense for the caps without mantha somehow going out, not necessarily to vancouver. i think they would be willing to throw in one of alexeyev or johansen to give van back a D but doubt they would move anyone else for a forward that is not a bona-fide top 6 guy

This makes TVR 3x 4.9m & Garland 3x 3.1m, like flipping their salaries. Which makes it more fair yet very expensive TVR
