Yet another Kadri benching, this is becoming a theme and could just go viral lol

I’d call up Poirier or Solovyov before Kuznetsov, just sayin’

Nah, he’s too skilled and we pay him too much to sit him

I’m on the move him to RW train. Let him help out with Faceoffs, but let somebody else lead and support. He’s a defensive liability, otherwise he’s just in an offensive slump

Kadri in the last three games has had 14 shots, leads the team in expected goals, leads the team in high danger chances for and looks more engaged than all of last season, I get people want him to be the martyr but there are significantly bigger issues than Kadri's play lately.

Yes, so aside from no goals scored and being on the ice for 8 more opponent goals against vs team goals for, which implies Kadri is the common denominator, please go ahead and educate us on said “significantly bigger issues”

Kadri is behind Backlund, Coleman, Lindholm, Sharangovich, Dube in on ice shots against pre 60, that's fairly telling in that he's been unlucky while getting those minuses, also displayed by his on ice expected goal differential. Paints a pretty telling picture when you look at how those goals are scored. For example, Dube turning the puck over at the blue line on a break out and Detroit scoring off the turnover, Kadri could have done nothing differently or Markstrom letting in a dribbler. +/- is a terrible surface level stat. A player could be laying on the ice unconscious at the other end but if the other team scores it's still a minus.
Significantly bigger issues, Weegar and Zadorov are on the ice for so many goals against where they are losing coverage, No one is converting on chances, the system looks too slow for the roster, decision making is at an all time low and taking too long across the entire team, they've been on the road for 10 days with a back to back in there, they turn the puck over at horrible areas of the ice.

So Kadri should actually be the 1C then!?

What are the sites for your sources, so we can all educate ourselves better!?

Has anyone ever said that? You asked for the bigger issues, gave you a few, if you'd like to dwell on Kadri and whine about that then what's the point in being on the website? Whine to your cat about it.

You just said Kadri is unlucky otherwise you seemingly implied he’s the best Calgary Flames Centre

He has been unlucky regarding +/- no doubt about it. Please point out where I said the other part of that.

Should we bench Weegar or Zadorov instead then!?

What are you saying here!? What’s your solution!?

You can't switch D pairings? You have to bench them? Weegar/Andersson, Hanifin/Tanev, Zadorov/Anyone. Stack the top 4 and run them more than the bottom pair. Get back on home ice and use the advantage you have to get Kadri/Coronato/Dube/Ruzicka/Greer/Duehr better matchups, as well as Lindholm and Backlund more starts in the d zone against the other teams top players. Practice the new system more as it's still clunky and new and leads to turnovers, make quicker decisions instead of holding onto the puck a beat too long, quit putting the lines in a blender and let them develop. Chip the puck out of the zone instead of turning it over at the blue line, chip the puck deep as opposed to turning it over in transition at the other teams blue line so on so forth...

I think that kills Lindholm, takes away the best part of Backlunds game but I like the upside of line 2, Mangiapane/Kadri is interesting but I think Sharangivich fits better on that wing, Ruzicka 4C with Greer and Duehr and stack the top 4 D. Solovyov/Gilbert/Oesterle with Zadorov for 12 - 15 minutes a night and run the other pairings like true top 4's.
I don't love it but based off what you're kind of aiming for:
Mangiapane - Lindholm - Coronato
Huberdeau - Backlund - Sharangovich
Dube - Kadri - Coleman
Greer - Ruzicka - Duher
Weegar - Andersson
Hanifin - Tanev
Solovyov - Zadorov

Swap Mangiapane & Dube and I don’t mind that one

What are your thoughts on Gilbert!? He’s played well and above expectation, no!?

Don't notice him majority of the time which a 6/7 defenseman should be. If he's in the line up for 90% of the games the Flames have not done a good job addressing that position. Lowest D man on the team in shots against per 60 and on-ice goals against per 60. Best of a bad situation so far.
