I think the Hawks pass, while Donato is just a depth guy the team needs some veterans in the lineup moving forward to help guide the young players. With players like Perry, Foligno and TJ all on expiring deals Donato with his 300 + games will be one of the most experienced forwards under contract at the end of this season.

Donato also has the ability to float up and down the lineup to fill needs, so I think he has more value to Chicago then a late 3rd round pick.
