TVR for brown works, not a fan of mantha ( or contract (but is expiring)) for boyd but I guess could see AZ get little bigger in bottom 6.

Lose the late 2nd on the return and this becomes an interesting trade option. TVR is OK, not sure he can play at pace but he could add some stability to the blue line.

Mantha is Mantha, who knows maybe he can figure out how to not suck on the Yotes. Bear is a hell of a coach and has gotten more out of some players than anyone expected.

I'm not super against this trade, but Mantha's contract worries me.

You'd be surprised at TVRs quickness sometimes. Not saying he's Lightning McQueen out there, but he's got some jump. And he's very solid in his own zone. My thinking was it's a very clear upgrade over Brown/Stecher, and he's on a solid deal for a couple more years. I'd take out the third, but the ask for TVR I think would be a second, which is why I put a late one.

2.85 mil for half a season isn't too bad. And if he doesn't work, he walks at the end of the year. It's pretty low risk!

I'd think they could get a little more splitting up TVR and Mantha

Oh, me too. I don't think I'd do it as a Caps fan But I was looking at it from AZ's perspective and what they could try and do
