Description
Let me know why this may or may not work.

Oilers dump Brown before he gets his 3.25m bonus and alleviate that cap hit from their team next year in exchange for Kubalik, at the cost of downgrading Ceci to JBD and a 3rd + 4th round pick.

Sens get Brown + Vaak from the Ducks, and clear enough cap to sign Pinto for this season,

Ducks get an upgrade on Vaak, with a third round pick to compensate the higher salary.

I dont watch Ceci or Vaak, so this could be way off

no chance edmonton does why would they trade Ceci who plays the most minutes at RD 5 on 5 not really a smart decision to make

Dude Sanderson's 8mil kicks in next year and Pinto after his suspension will need a new contract, the cap won't go up that much they'll need the space

anyone else they would send out and downgrade on? I wanted to do Brown for Kubalik in a sort of swap but evidently the oilers dont have the cap to do that this year without sending out other salary

I think we have like 10 million in projected space even with the Sanderson extension kicking in. All the major spots on offense, defense and goaltending are filled already. & pinto wont be in line for much of a raise unless he scores like 25 goals in 40 games

Oilers aren’t going to trade brown before he hits bonuses. His former agent that signed him to that deal has since became hollands boss…. Aside from that massive issue both woodcroft and holland have outright said before the season going to need to be patient with brown because he’s not going to be up to speed for awhile. They expected this slow start.

Around 10 mil to fill 5ish roster spots and since Ottawa is looking to make the playoffs they'll be going for decent bottom guys around 1.5-3mil AAV per guy.
Example: let's say after the bonus Ottawa has 11mil, 2.5mil goes to Pinto assuming he puts up 15ish points in 30ish games after his suspension, now down to 8.5mil left
Another 2.5+mil to keep Brannstrom so 6mil left
Another 2.5mil-3 to round out the 3rd line or even more if Ottawa decides Greig isn't ready to slot into the top 6, we'll say he is so 3mil left
3mil to fill out the 4th line not ideal and it gives Ottawa little room to improve
I got the same 6 guys returning on defense and Kastelic and JBD as the extras, when I checked to see if I had missed something

If the cap goes up to 87m (the low end of projected cap rise), we will have 14 million in cap space next year. Would need to resign Pinto and add a third line forward, so call it 6M ish between the 2. Need to re-sign branny so another 2.5m. That leaves us with give or take 5.5 million for 2 4th line players. Take the theoretical 3.2 million from Brown and that still leaves over 2 million for 2 4th line wingers.

Super doable imo

Ceci is not a cap dump at all, he's actually solid

Edmonton does not do that so the 2 trades don't happen.
