They certainly should not. I imagine most fans are cursing the original trade of Monahan. Those conditions seemed unattainable at the time of the trade, and now are falling into place nicely.

This is a bad trade for CGY and bringing Monahan back to the Locker Room would be awkward and not make sense at all
