Description

Preds have a lot of D men. By the leafs adding their pics are sweeteners Novak is scoring depth and a perfect 3rd line centre the leafs need. NSH declines. NSH doesn't just have a lot of defensemen, they have too many. What makes you think that they would give up one only to take one back?

The only thing in this deal for NSH are the picks. I'd consider a 1st for Novak on his own, but at the way he is scoring I wouldn't be surprised if NSH hangs on to him as part of the rebuild or sells him for more than that at the deadline considering he is 3rd on the team (behind ROR and Forsberg) in points and 2nd in goals (behind ROR) and has an incredibly friendly contract.
