Why dont you want to improve the 2nd line? It also gives us a defensive C and a guy who is known to play amazing playoff hockey.

Because he's not going to waive and the Jets aren't an expensive, fading older player away from contention.

I'm staying clear from any SJS players. Kevin Labanc might be someone of interest but the results haven't been there to really say.

Why would you stay clear of SJ players? and beyond that why would Labanc be the exception.

Because that team is awful. I would look into Labanc because he is a right hand shot forward which is what the Jets are lacking.

Yeah the team is awful... There's better players there than Labanc.

Sure, but are the SJS willing to part with them during their rebuild? I would highly doubt it. Couture, Duclair, Vlasic, Granlund, Hertl, and Hoffman are all going to be moved but none of those players would improve the Jets. so for those reasons I would stay away from SJS when it comes to adding.

Hertl and Couture are very likely NOT to get moved unless they specifically ask. Vlasic can't be moved because his contract is awful. And Hoffman won't get moved because he's the worst hockey player I've ever seen.

IF Cooch or Hertl asked out they would absolutely add tremendous value to whatever team they went to, assuming that team can fit them under the cap. Duclair and Barabanov are the most likely to get moved given they are UFAs and would also add great 2nd/3rd line scoring depth to any team at pretty damn low cap hits as well. Granlund likely won't get moved until next season when he's a pending UFA.
