Yeah. But I thought that happened during the Dubas GM drama which could have played a factor in O'Reilly and Schenn's departure.

Fair enough, I thought it was more of a location thing. He did make it seem that there was something about playing in Toronto specifically that he didn't like. Maybe didn't like the microscope?

Who knows, maybe with Dube there he finds a way to convince him. I do think Dubas is an amazing GM and the Leafs were crazy to let him go. But even that seems a little outside his powers.

1 of the core 4 would have been traded if Dubas was still GM bc he was talking about it during his last press conference

Ryan O'Reilly wouldn't sign in Toronto because of how much pressure/focus was put on by fans and media I believe. Also Samsonov was 100% getting signed either way.
