The last thing they’re going to do is spend a 1st on a goalie when they have Kochetkov Raanta and Halak. Not moving Drury too. Easy no for the Canes.

With Ranta and Kochetkov not being so good so far, they could be tempted after a month of medium performances... Halak is just on trial, he hasn't signed yet and imo won't sign.. With Andersen out for a long time, Allen is a great option that is signed next year for a good duo with Kochetkov

Not that I think the Canes would be in the market for a goalie right now but I think your sights are set a bit high. Also I think the Habs would be more interested in something like Perets + Gunler or Suzuki for Allen + 3rd or something along those lines

Raanta has already started looking like how he did last year, and clearly the not so great start was caused by the gear change he was trying out, and since he switched back to the gear he was using last year, it hasn’t been a problem. You are also using a small sample size of games where the Canes weren’t playing defense for crap to justify a drastic goalie for a washed goalie.

I agree, as a Habs fan, that's an overpayment.

However, retaining 50% of the salary for 2 years, that does bump the price up, let's be fair.
