Ill spell it out for you one last time, we are telling you what the value of these players are in a trade deadline scenario not in a vacuum, in that scenario we saw a horrible player like Chiarot return a first round pick, if you aren’t willing to pony up the correct value there are other teams that will easily outbid your garbage offers.

I think the Leafs need to accept what they are for the next 2 years, stop going all in, retain those assets for when Tavares comes off the books. Then it's all in every year until Matthew's dies.

Slowly build IMO... Acquiring Tanev and Z would help a lot, but the biggest piece is that Treliving should be able to retain both at a decent cost IMO... I'm just hoping for a deep playoff run which I think this team can do... Build momentum form last year's series win and continue to trade up...

JT contract isn't a problem unless they resign Nylander at 10+ IMO... But who knows at this point... Been a weird negotiation period

There's definitely an argument to be made for not wasting any years, and if you're letting Nylander walk, this is the last year you've got all this talent on "reasonable" contracts.

If I were pushing all in with the Leafs, I would target Nashville, they're teetering on the edge of a rebuild, have kinda signaled they're doing it. Might need a few more losses to pull the trigger. Forsberg, Josi, Saros, Mcdoughnut (what's up with him? Injured?), crazy potential package, but you gotta open the cupboards. Everything of value just for a couple of em I would assume.

Yeah... And besides Minten, Cowan and Niemela... It's not like there are reinforcements coming from the farm system...

And others like ROR, Novak, Fabbro or even Schenn, with retention of course, could come back for a lot less

Why are Flames fans high on Tanev? Maybe because he's absolutely great! It's probably the same reason that you keep proposing trades for him.



If the most we could get for Tanev at 50% retention is a 2nd then it's not worth it. I would personally love to have Tanev around even if we were going into a rebuild.
