Jesus. EDM is infinitely better off just buying him out at the end of the year. If they absolutely feel the need to make a G addition in-season, they'd still be infinitely better off sending away one of their smaller salaries (Foegele, Kulak, or the like). Y'all are getting nuts with this stuff.

Or we could keep the 3 1sts and just buyout the contract in the summer… yep that sounds much better.

Maybe. But paying a cap hit until 2030 is a serious price to pay. Even though it will only be 1.5MM for the last 3 years, that can inhibit building a team around your stars.

I'm not saying Edm should do this, but this would be the cost.
