Haha 3 players that have been a disappointment for leafs for 1 disappointment and 2 quality players from Edmonton. Ya that sounds really attractive for Edmonton. Massive pass

If I'm Ken Holland, I would genuinely consider this trade.

The Big Problem for Edmonton is that Campbell deal. You're giving up better assets to get out of that tire fire. Sorry.

Or just let him hang out in bako till the off-season then buy out… not a big issue

not a big issue apart from pissing off the two best players in the world by wasting another year of their careers with poor roster construction

Trading Hyman a good friend of there’s that complements their game very well for guys another team is ready to throw away. That’s not going to sit right either.

i agree don't think edm makes this particular trade i'm just saying there's no way they can just let campbell sit in the A until the summer and piss away another year of mcdrai

This is a weird trade, I agree I wouldn't want to move Hyman but cap space is gold in this current era.

If we did this we'd have close to 17M next season to sign a top 6 RW, a RHD and a goalie while running a 23 man roster.
Giving up Hyman to get that much freedom isnt really a huge price...

Hyman is on a very good deal. Move him then just need to reinvest that money in his replacement which has no guarantee of working out as well. He’s too good of a fit. Think everyone is overreacting to Campbell. With him in the A and Neal’s buyout that’s roughly 6 million dead space. The wild have a crap ton more dead space and find a way to be higher in the standings. all the oilers need is .900 save percentage and the problems will fade away. Don’t need to move Hyman to achieve that. Next years cap situation is next offseason problem.

On this site acting like a hypothetical GM it's important to think about the future too, I love Hyman's game and he 100% complements our top players (he is on a good deal too).
But cap space again is worth much much more, at least in my opinion.

17 Mill for 3 players means a lot, both in free agency and to make trades.

Again, not saying it's a 100% from me to do this trade, but it opens up very interesting options for Edmonton both this year and going forward which holds a lot of value in todays cap era.
