Habs

Created by: Campabee
Team: 2023-24 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 8, 2023
Published: Nov. 10, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I know the Oilers trade is outlandish just tired of seeing the same regurgitated offers lol
Trades
EDM
  1. Allen, Jake
  2. Barron, Justin
  3. Harris, Jordan
Additional Details:
Sorry Oil fans, I know this one isn't gonna be liked but if you want to dump Campbell and get Allen without giving up multiple 1sts and /or top prospects then you are gonna have to part with a young player the Habs would have interest in. Habs send a couple good young D men back to balance and open roster spots.

Imo, I would much rather have Barron and Allen than Campbell and Bouchard

That flames trade could be more egregious than the one you’re apologizing for.

I would rather have Allen too but adding Wolf makes the Edmonton move more palatable

Really?! I thought most Flames fans wanted Kadri gone and wolf wasn't preforming up to expectations. I apologize if I misread the situation

Wolf has been amazing. They just don't want to rush a Vladar trade just to get him onto the roster

That's fair, like I said I may have misread the situation and apologize for it

How has Kadri been playing?

Even when a ton of flames were having meltdowns about Kadri he was still leading the way in expected goals and creating chances, he was super unlucky and prone to turnovers at the start of the year which was definitely frustrating to watch but he was fine. Beyond that his buyout is suuuppeer palatable in a couple years if need be

Wolf just got called up, hasn’t played but was leading the AHL with 5 wins and had a .924 sv%. Even if he were underperforming to start the season he’s only 22 and the only blue chip prospect the flames have, they’ll give him a huge runway to get his bearings if he needs it.

That's fair, I just remembered seeing a ton of Flames fans saying they would rather trade Kadri than Huberdeau so I thought this might be palatable. I will remove it, thanks for the input

Fixing an issue by creating an issue. I'd rather keep Bouchard and not overpay for Allen. I think there are far more easy ways to fix the goalie issues without ruining the Right shot defense even more.

I don't think you can say this move ruins the right side of the D, weakens maybe but ruins is a bit of a strong word don't you think considering how well Barron has played and how poorly Bouchard has played this year. Also given that I included Harris in the deal who plays both sides equally as well the difference between Barron + Harris and Bouchard is negligible. Especially when you can line up Ekholm-Barron, Nurse-Harris, Kulak-Ceci and scratch Desharnais, it's not as bad as you make it out to be, especially considering you basically swap Campbell for Allen without adding a huge multi piece sweetener.
