Not a fan of trading Cowan + Minten for pending UFA's. We also aren't going to be removing McCabe from our D.

We don't need Lindholm either (of course he would be a huge add but I would rather keep the assests).

I don't like this from the Leafs side of things. I assume Calgary fans won't be happy with this either though.

Mccabe is terrible. Really terrible. Toronto has to be in win now mode. 3 decent but not elite propsects is a fair trade for a top 6 centre, top 4 d and top 6 guy.

McCabe is a solid bottom pair Dman and is getting paid like one. He isn't a top 4 though. The Leafs should keep him in this scenario.

The trade is fair. I agree. I just wouldn't do it if I were the Leafs though.

Fair enough if you dont like the trade. But imo defence is brutally bad for toronto. This solves that problem and makes them an excellent defemsive team. Possibly elite. Mccabe is still terrible and has been since the trade. Id be fine if he were the 7th guy. Keefe gives him 18 minutes a game.

I agree with removing Klingberg and adding Tanev and Zadorov. Our D Core looks very nice like that. I would pay a decent amount for that swap. I just wouldn't pay the price for Lindholm as well.

Yet another in a very long line of lopsided Leafs homer trade proposals. Sure it includes two of Toronto's best prospects but they're still only B prospects. It also includes terrible useless Klingberg.

Only B prospects. Yup, it was pretty clear you had a bias here but that gem can be filed under the "you hate the Leafs more than you like hockey" persons. Hilarious take

Keep drinking the blue Koolaid the drugs it's spiked with have to be really good. Maybe Minten is a B+ but that's it. Just because the Leafs wasted a late 1st round pick on Cowan doesn't make him more than a B.

23 points in 12 games in the OHL. Yeah just a B prospect. At least do a little work before making yourself look like a joke.

Minten and cowan are good prospects. Definitely 1st round pick equivalents. Not getting anything close to that from other teams. I feel like Im overpaying to dump bad players in return.

Lindholm + Zadorov + Tanev will certainly get offers from multiple teams for more than that. Even without retention or taking a contract as bad as Klingberg's in return.

Tanev not getting more than a 3rd. Zadorov a 2nd. Maybe a 2nd and low level prospect. If calgary did this move theyd be tanking and trying to get worse. This does that AND adds 3 good prospects. Plus, if by some miracle any of the guys show some competemce, they could sell them again at the deadline for more.

Shall we remind you of this extreme lowball evaluation after he fetches far more? Assuming the Flames don't move a few players from the rotten core offer him a new contract and he decides to stay after all.

And why did you focus solely on Zadorov while completely ignoring Lindholm (the most valuable of the 3 Flames players) and Tanev (both of whom you expect 50% retention on)?

You go ahead and screenshot this. And by logic I did address the best piece here. You just couldn't figure it out.

Tanev will get a 1st. Likely another asset for 50% retainment, not a very high value piece. Zadorov will get a 2nd equivalent at the absolute most. He has less value than McCabe did last season and doesn't have term. Lindholm has a lot of value for sure. A 1st and likely another high end piece as well would be needed. This offer is overboard. Minten and Cowan are both very good prospects any team would want. I wouldn't give up either of them for rentals. The cost to get Lindholm is too much for me. He's worth it but I don't think he's needed as badly as Minten will be down the line. Or cowan.

Tanev and Zadorov would be good adds and if McCabe was needed to balance a trade for both, fine, he's the same thing that Zadorov is but smaller and has some better puck moving qualities. So it's a wash really so what's Tanev worth, a 1st and McCabe for Tanev and Zadorov? Or McCabe and Niemela maybe if they preferred a closer asset than a future 1st.

Expecting more for these rentals is silly
