You think a mere former first round pick, injured 4th line forward, 2024 6th and 2026 3rd round pick will entice the Jets to part ways with esteemed third line winger Mason Appleton?
In all seriousness though, I genuinely think the Jets are better off rejecting this. Appy's on a heater this year. Playing with Lowry and Nino is apparently just what he needed to succeed. The Jets can't afford to lose the consistent scoring (even when it's in the most Mason Appleton way possible).
Jets are flush with FWD prospects too. Unless they see something special in Bourgault, he wouldn't become the top dog on the depth chart. The Jets are in "win now" mode since signing Scheif and Hellebuyck, and (I can't believe I'm saying this) Mason Appleton gives us a better chance to win this year and next year than Bourgault, Janmark, a 6th, and a 3rd put together.
