Kane for shts and giggles Campbell

Created by: alemieux64
Team: 2023-24 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 12, 2023
Published: Nov. 12, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Few teams have cap space for Kane. Get back to game shape with Habs then we trade him to contender at deadline.
Oilers probably would say no... but they are desperate. Allen is not much of an improvement on Campbell anyway, and we could buy out Campbell when we decide we are tired of tanking in a year or two.

Allen vs Campbell isn't even a debate, Allen isn't being waived, doesn't have a 5 mil 4 year contract, and has kept the Habs in games they shouldn't even be in so far this year. He is a solid upgrade on Campbell, he isn't a starter but he is a good 1B or very good backup on a contending team for sure. BTW you are a 1st short and Habs aren't including RHP for free. It takes Bourgault +1st to dump Campbell, Allen for Lavoie is ok value though I personally would just take a similar valued pick.

RHP is a hard worker and could be a useful depth player on a contender. If you forget those 10-15 games he played with Suzuki last year, he is not that special. And also... smol. He is definitely expendable.

If we want Lavoie and Bourgault, you gotta make space for them eventually. Hence why I send RHP which could help Oilers in depth role now.

Goaltending is not the only problem with the Oilers, they might want to use their 1st to address their D core, and a 1st, Bourgault and Lavoie seems like wayyyy to much just to get rid of a 5m contract...
would you give Owen Beck and Harris + a 1st to get rid of Anderson or Gallagher? I wouldn't... though... maybe I would.

thanks for the reply mate!

Pk88 wants to win another Cup

ONLY reason he’d do this would be for the $$$
And he’d want an NMC that essentially gives him the choice of who u trade him to at the deadline

Exactly my reasoning too. Long shot... but who knows...if he wants to sign directly on a contender in next few weeks, he will have to do so at a massive discount.

He’s made plenty of $$ though too
Kane isn’t gonna sign some Vet minimum deal (like Leafs fans think), but i don’t think he need $8mil per either
Winning is his priority from what i know
And i think he’d like a multi-year deal if he likes the situation

Couple things:
Kane isn’t making 8 mil for playing half a season, no one would pay him that.
Sabres wouldn’t send a pick for him when we could just sign Kane to begin with.

Bruins would be far better served taking that first and adding to it for a better player than Monahan. That's a half measure and bad General Manager(ing)
