Lindholm

What’s your point? Still not paying double his actual value.

And he would cost infinitely more on an acquisition standpoint not to mention is an expiring UFA which will also cost more against the cap.

Thanks for playing

How do you figure he costs more against the cap? Or costs more for that matter?

GTFOH. Lol.

He cost more from an acquisition standpoint because he was a Selke tier center fairly recently

He will cost more than Hertl currently will against the cap if his rumoured extension cost of $9M+ is true. Hertl is around $8M. Yes you would save on this year only but a player like Lindholm isn't a pure rental. You would likely see a sign and trade.

Boston has 25m in cap space next year. Only concern is this years cap. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Now: fun fact. Hertl career 82 game average 25goals. Debrusk 25goals.

SJ taking Debrusk as an asset they extend. 1st for Hertl being C. 3rd for taking Forbort to make the cap work. They can flip him at the deadline for another pick.

Boston keeps Lysell/Dyck/2nd/Zboril. SJ keeps Ohkotiuk.

You are in the ballpark. I don’t want Hertl, but you are in the ballpark.

Problem is Debrusk probably tests market rather than extending there 🤷🏻‍♂️

You also prove why Boston can’t trade for Hertl in season. You are maxed out with a 20 man roster and your wing depth is putrid.

There is no way to trade for Hertl, make the cap work, and not decimate the depth.

It’s an overpay for Boston.

My perspective is if Boston offered DeBrusk, Lysell, and a #1 for Lindholm … that will likely be in the top offers for him (Columbus is interesting). I’d argue that Hertl is worth Lysell, a #1, and Grzelcyk comparatively.

We can’t realistically get to the cap position for Hertl without trading a goaltender or having SJ retain (which I don’t think they’d want to do). If a trade for Hertl is going to happen, it will be in the offseason or will be a three way trade with a goalie going to the third team

this is an Eichel-level package for a player far inferior, older, and on a contract that will likely look pretty rough in a few years. Bruins pass for sure
