Making several assumptions with this trade

Description

Assumption #1 - Allvin and VAN brass like Lily enough to pay the acquisition price.

Assumption #2 - VAN is firmly in a playoff spot before the trade deadline and are willing to give up their 2024 1st to make a push.

Assumption #3 - The Leafs would entertain moving Lily if they could flip those assets to CGY for Chris Tanev.

Assumption #4 - CGY would prefer a 1st + instead of just taking Lily in a package for Tanev.

Not sure if it works, but trying to think outside the box a bit. I know Tanev would be a rental target for VAN as well, but there's rumours that CGY might be hesitant to help VAN out and that TOR is very interested. Tanev is the better Dman right now, but Lily is an RFA so he's not necessarily a rental for the Canucks.

It's not really a good offer. Woo is a nothing prospect. The first is fine but does nothing for the now and the leafs are supposed to be a contender. They weakens the team.

Woo is around the corner and will get a cup of coffee this year. If he keeps his play up this year he pushes for. 3rd line spot next season.

And I agree...a 1st plus Woo is hard to pass up and frankly too much. Swap for a 2nd and a 5th
