I'm seeing a lot of people trying to move every single player with any kind of value, I don't think that's the right way to go. You need to keep some talent around to help foster a good culture for the young guys in the system, and to help sell a few more season tickets. All moves at/near the deadline.
I would be 100% happy to move Labanc, Hoffman, and Granlund but I don't think they have any kind of positive value. If Couture asks to be moved, you definitely try to accommodate. If you can convince Edmonton to give you a 1st to take Campbell, you 100% do it.
Build around Eklund, Smith, the 2024 top 3 pick, and hope some of your other prospects hit (Musty, Bystedt, Mukhamadullin, Bordeleau, Lund, Thrun, Halttunen, Havelid, Cagnoni, Gushchin, Coe). If 5 of them turn into legit NHL players, you're ecstatic. Let Vlasic ride out the rest of his deal as a bottom pair/7th D, and play Hertl as your 1C until Smith/Celebrini/someone else can fill that slot.
Extend Barabonov in the next offseason, as well as Addison, Thrun, Lavoie, Bordeleau, and Okhotiuk. Let Hoffman, Labanc, Simek, Lindblom walk.

SJS
2024 3rd round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
Could be most anywhere, value seems to be around a 3rd.
Canucks pass.No interest in another bottem six forward.IMHO.
That's kind of the only thing not going for Vancouver right now, is their depth scoring, no? I feel like switching the return between Duke and Kunin would be more accurate though. I don't see him getting a second.
Not a fan of the Edmonton one at all for SJ. 1. Benning > Ceci (at least the contract) 2. Zadina > Lavoie by a lot. And the third just isn't really worth it imo
I think the value of Duke and Kunin are switched. I want to keep Rutta solely because Sharks have like no RHD
But I agree with the overall team plan in your description. I like the idea of extending Barabanov. Also I think Hoffman may be able to get a little something back if he continues to play how he has the past few games

I personally cant see paying a second for a bottem six player. That second plus could go along way to fetching a top four Rd which is more of a need currently.Just my opinion.

I don't see as much in Zadina yet, and Rutta doesn't really like up with any of the Sharks future plans. There will be some RD available in free agency in the next year or two though.

If they can't get a 2nd for him, I expect them to keep him. They traded a 3rd for him so the optics of moving him at neutral/a loss are too bad for anything less than a 2nd to make sense.

Not saying Zadina is a high level player but he has far more potential and has actually produced as all this season, unlike Lavoie. Rutta I'd be ok with moving on from but I just think it would be easier to do that in his UFA season. And I'm looking at the pending RD UFAs and the one's that are likely to go the Free Agency aren't too impressive. I'd like to see DeMelo back, but other than that no one thrills me
As for your other point, I think getting back what you gave, or even less, is fine. They took a chance and it didn't work out great, it happens. And if he does improve over the season and can fetch more/fits in our future middle six, then I'm all for it.
