I don't know if Willy gets 11. But his price is going up each game it seems. He bet on himself and it's paying off. No pun intended.

They can really benefit if they can manage to keep Timmins until next year, think that would make the Dcore much better.

Rielly-Tanev
Brodie-Liljegren
McCabe-Timmins

I hope he's willing -no pun intended - to take a "discount" but I don't see that being any lower than 10M but more than likely something like 10.25M or 10.5M. Definitely won't be surprised if he gets 11M and considers that a discount as well considering his buddy Pastrnak is making 11.25x8. The "discount" that Matthews took was only 250K anyway, so for the sake of parity, he may want that much. I don't know if he's superstitious but 11Mx8 would be an 88M total contract.

Leafs at 8x10 for 80M. This means any other team must pay him 11.428M over 7 years to match the amount. With the leafs only team allowed to sign him for 8 years is a big factor.

Yup, 11x8 is definitely something that would seem pretty reasonable/great value in 4-5 years assuming the cap goes up a decent bit.

Yea that Dcore going into the playoffs would be a NTU

Why we putting Brodie away from Rielly on his. Those two have been great together like the one bright spot on the Dcore that has been messy with the injuries or Klingbergness.

This just feels unnecessary. As lowering McCabe and putting Brodie with Liligren does not scream good idea cause Brodie-Liligren does not scream shutdown pair

Now

Rielly-Brodie
McCabe-Tanev

Thats fine for a top 4 but they need someone to play with Liligren. And yea Timmins probs gone or #7

My prediction for Nylander is 10.25m x 8 years

Originally he wanted 10m and Leafs were looking 8.8-9m

10.25m is right in the sweetspot for him thats 82million dollars and he will be making more than Rantanen, Kucherov, Tkachuck,

Rielly-Brodie are nice but I think Brodie could benefit from a slightly reduced role sometimes he's not looking like his regular self. There's also the possibility of Rielly and Tanev being just as good or better. Brodie-Liljegren might not be a shutdown line but I figure Keefe won't have set lines. One of the main motivators though of moving Brodie to the left side was to get Timmins in (assuming he can prove that he can be a regular, he hasn't really had to opportunity to run with it yet).

If they want to go with set lines, then those pairings you suggested are probably the way to go, but I think cutting out Timmins would be a mistake unless the guy they find to pair with Liljegren can produce offense or allows him to find his offensive game. They do need someone other than Rielly who can produce offense from the backend. Maybe they run 11-7 in the playoffs but personally, I'm not much of a fan.

He might be wiling to take 10.25M but he wouldn't be making more than any of those 3 most likely despite the higher cap hit.

Well sure you can factor taxes but u get it

He basically would be the third highest cap hit RW in the NHL not bad for him

As for Rielly-Brodie I think they are fine as actually 2nd pair arguably has the hardest job as thats the shutdown pair
