If we retain on Palms we could get a 2nd back.

Lee hasnt been good to start but hes been super unlucky. Im confident we will be able to get a bit more with 3.5 mil retention by the summer.

Both players are good wingers teams contending will want, just not at their current AAVs. But both of them making 3-4 mil or so is a steal, especially with lee for 2 years

Tbh I think you are overvaluing Lee while underrating Palmieri. Lee’s finishing ability has faded with age. His shooting percentage is at 6.3% on the campaign with his TOI dropping considerably over the last ten contests. Palmieri is shooting 7.9% so far, but that is because he has always been a streaky scorer. And when he isn’t productive, it’s normally due to his health.

Lee’s game away from the puck has been a significant issue since he was resigned in 2019 imo. He lacks the foot speed to win races against this next wave of talent that has taken the league by storm. Palmieri has decent straight line speed, but isn’t elite in terms of his edge work. I think you would be luck to give Lee away (Like Ryan Johansen) and with KP you probably can’t trade him until next years deadline due to his injury history/age.

Ya I agree looking at it now. I think Lee could still return something. Maybe a future 3rd in the right spot? Maybe a better pick swap for KP?
