I don’t think Morrow is available anymore. Certainly not for a rental.

Yikes, That TOR offer wouldn't get you Tanev OR Zadorov 50% retained individually. Maybe Zadorov UNRETAINED, but I don't see CGY wanting/needing Robertson at all or being very high on Niemela either

The Lindholm Trade is better, but still light considering where CAR's Draft Pick Position would end up being

It's for a rental... the Lindholm trade is a massive overpay for the Hurricanes (A first+Plus a very good prospect)

Get out of here with your "It's for a rental..." BS. Teams won't be barred from talking extensions with any of our available Players or their Agents prior to them being Traded, so that could all easily be worked out ahead of time, like many Trades involving decent/costly returns are

Lindholm is very well respected across the league. He's a Selke Quality All-Star Centre/Forward, who's scored 42 Goals and put up 1.00PPG twice. Lindholm is worth AT LEAST what Horvat was Traded for, which was initially projected to be a 13th Overall Pick (ended up becoming 17th overall since NYI improved and made the playoffs) + Top Prospect/Raty + Quality Roster Player

Most consider Lindholm > Horvat. Many might not agree, but with his Right Shot and Superior Shooting Accuracy, I find Lindholm <= Injured/Questionable/Entitled Jack Eichel who fetched BUF a 16th OA Pick + Top Prospect/Krebs + 2nd + Above Average Player. Therefore Lindholm to me is worth something between the two =

Top-20 1st Round Pick + Top Prospect/Former Top-20 1st Rounder + 2nd/3rd (For Retention if needed) and a Decent Roster Player

Lindholm hasn't been great the past year+ and the Hurricanes aren't going to extend him so yes it's a rental and a first+ is an insane asking price for somebody who's sub .8 ppg in the last year+

Offer him $8.46 x 6-7 year then, maybe it’d help us with our negotiations with him. You had no problem giving Bunting $4.5mil and he isn’t 1/2 the Player Lindholm is

In case you haven’t noticed, the Flames haven’t been good the last 1+ years as a whole and Lindholm has had nothing but a revolving door of wingers… Aho wouldn’t have faired any better were he in the same situation

Pro Tip for ya, GMs don’t just value players on their offensive statistics, only casual fans do and I bet he returns to 1.00PPG by the Deadline too

If y’all are too shy to pay the price to acquire a Star Right Shot 1C or pay him his Market Vakue, then yeah, you’re out on Lindholm. Max Domi might be available…

Aho has had a revolving door of wingers (Noesen, Bunting, Martinook, Svechnikov, Necas, Jarvis, Tervanian) as well and he's still produced at about a PPG pace while still being way above average defensively and in a system that suppresses offense. "Pro Tip for ya, GMs don’t just value players on their offensive statistics"... TDA on $5m AAV tells me differently. A $9m AAV for 5+ years on a guy who is 28 is a super risky investment and has the potential to be an absolute albatross of a contract, especially after a year+ of not being amazing.

Aho’s also played on a much Better Team and other than those first 3 names you mentioned (who I doubt got much time on the 1st line), those guys are all better (or at least were performing to expectation) than what Lindholm has been given to work with for Wingers over the past ~ 1.25 seasons

When he’s on his game, TDA is absolutely worth $5mil/yr. It’s his mouth/attitude and defensive play that brings his value down

I don’t disagree with the rest of your assessment. Best would be to develop a Centre, but if you can’t or don’t want to wait, Lindholm’s likely the best/only thing available in terms of 1C’s at this years Deadline and whether you choose to extend him past this season or not, his price will be a 1st + Top Prospect + Roster Player(s)

Whether that’s from CAR, I don’t know 🤷‍♂️ I’m not gonna pretend to know your Team better than you do

How bout Teravainen for Backlund instead!? I’d take TdA all day long too, just at his discounted trade price, not his true/full value

I do not think that the Hurricanes need Elias Lindholm but he would be a nice 2 or 3C to anchor another scoring line. I do think that Vasily Ponomarev could come up and play that 3C Role that we really need but I'd rather just trade for somebody who's an established NHL guy... maybe a Cody Glass, Cole Sillinger, or Joel Eriksson Ek

I'd be more than happy to deal TDA+ for a true RHD who can PP a QB (Hanifin and Dobson come to mind immediately)

How bout Teravainen for Backlund instead!?- I think that the value of Turbo would be a lot more to the Hurricanes (not exactly on the open market) considering the fact that he's back to his goalscoring form and he has an incredible connection with Sebastian Aho
